New South Wales Premier, Morris Iemma has proved that the Labor party is just as disgustingly discriminatory as their more conservative counterparts. They’ve proved that they are just as racist as the Liberal party (that’s Liberal with a big L, and far from liberal) by setting up the Middle-Eastern crime squad, and now he thinks it’s inappropriate for childcare centres to read books which have gay relationships. He says that childcare centres should not be a battleground for gender politics. He doesn’t want to offend those with opposing views to homosexuality.
By doing this, he has taken a stand on these issues by refusing to allow homosexuality to be discussed and offended those in the gay and lesbian community by shunning their sexuality from mention. This creates a close-minded view among children. Children who live in households with homophobic parents need to be taught that it’s ok to be gay. Australia and other countries have a culture of shunning homosexuality, which leads to teen suicide in staggering numbers.
And in Russia, a gay pride parade was violently broken up by police when skinheads, Christians and nationalists assaulted those proud of their sexuality.
